Washington County Chamber of Commerce Announces Exciting New Summer Event: "Washington County Wander & Savor"

Salem, IN – April 15, 2025 – The Washington County Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the launch of a brand-new, county-wide initiative designed to celebrate our vibrant local businesses and encourage residents to explore the hidden gems within our communities: Washington County Wander & Savor!

Building on the resounding success of our annual Small Business Saturday Cookie Walk, Washington County Wander & Savor will be a much larger, summer-long adventure, inviting residents and visitors alike to embark on a delicious and discovery-filled journey across Washington County.

"I've heard time and again from our residents that they are often surprised to learn about the diverse array of fantastic businesses right here in their own backyard," says CEO, Erik Bush, CP of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce. "Washington County Wander & Savor is our exciting solution to this. It's a fun and engaging way to connect our community with the incredible entrepreneurs and establishments that make our county so special."

Here's how Washington County Wander & Savor will work:

Throughout the months of June and July, participants will have the opportunity to obtain a "Washington County Wander & Savor Passport" from the Chamber of Commerce and participating businesses. This passport will feature a curated list of local businesses spanning various sectors – from restaurants and boutiques to service providers and attractions.

Attendees will then be encouraged to visit the listed establishments at their leisure during June and July. At each participating business, passport holders will receive a stamp or signature upon making a purchase or engaging with the business in a designated way (to be determined in collaboration with participating businesses).

To add an element of excitement and reward local support, participants who patronize a certain minimum number of businesses listed in their passport will be eligible to enter a drawing for fantastic prizes. Participants who complete their entire passport by visiting all listed businesses will receive multiple entries, significantly increasing their chances of winning!

"This isn't just about encouraging spending; it's about fostering connection and building awareness," Erik emphasizes. "I want our residents to discover new favorite spots, support their neighbors, and truly appreciate the richness and diversity of our local economy."

Call to Action for Washington County Businesses:

The Washington County Chamber of Commerce is now actively seeking enthusiastic participation from businesses across the county. This is a unique opportunity to:

Participating businesses will be featured in the official Washington County Wander & Savor Passport, on the Chamber's website and social media channels, and in promotional materials.
