Full-Time and Part-Time Personal Banker (Salem, IN)

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Serves customers in a professional, efficient and courteous manner.
  • Asks questions and actively listens to determine how best to refer and cross-sell.
  • Answers questions about bank services and directs customers to the appropriate person if more detailed information is needed.
  • Ensures all customer transactions are handled with exceptional service by properly cashing checks, accepting and posting deposits, transferring funds, accepting loan, mortgage, or other payments, issuing receipts, issuing cash advances, and other negotiable instruments and transactions in accordance with bank policy.
  • Balances assigned cash drawer maintaining a proficient balancing record following bank guidelines.
  • Balances ATM, processes night deposit bags and deposits by mail, prepares change orders.
  • Maintains work area (orderly, well supplied, etc.).
  • Responsible for procedures as they relate to money orders, official checks, cash advances, savings bonds, travelers checks, and TT&Ls.
  • As needed, performs platform clerical tasks such as account set-ups, filing, inventory control, internal audits, etc.
  • Participates from time to time with community organizations and in community projects.
  • Adheres to the compliance, security and internal guidelines and requirements for teller performance.
  • Is aware of segregation of duties and adheres to bank established policies.
  • Responsible for adherence to bank’s operational compliance and security policies and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Is committed to on-going professional development and actively participates and advocates the bank's training and development programs and commitment to learning.
  • Provides customer access to safe deposit boxes.
  • Assist in branch opening and closing procedures.
 REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Presents a professional image in dealing with customers, interdepartmental and external representatives.
  • Requires a general knowledge of bank operations, policies and procedures and various departmental policies.
  • Excellent cash handling and/or cashier skills.
  • Must be able to perform all over-the-counter customer services. Must exercise accuracy, alertness, good judgment, courtesy, tact, and patience, maintaining confidentiality of the bank’s records and customer transactions.
  • Have a high degree of interpersonal skills, attitude, communication and the ability to effectively interact with customers and employees.
  • Ability to exercise personal and professional responsibility and work with limited direction.
  • Ability to use various office equipment, including adding machine, coin and currency counters, typewriter, computer.
  • Intermediate math skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge which includes e-mail, internet, Microsoft Word.
  • Knowledge and understanding of, and adherence to, the Bank’s Code of Conduct
