Small Business Saturday is a national shopping day that takes place the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Along with Black Friday and Cyber Monday, SBS kickstarts the holiday shopping season. Businesses typically offer sales and other incentives to get customers through the door and boost sales. American Express founded Small Business Saturday in 2010. Since then, Small Business Saturday has evolved into a Shop Small® movement that encourages consumers to support local businesses and communities year-round. In honor of Small Business Saturday, the Washington County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting our annual Cookie Walk to encourage visitors to participate in all the sales our local merchants have created! On Saturday, November 25th, we will be registering cookie walkers to join the hunt for the cookies distributed by our participants at the several cookie stops! Santa will also be making his first appearance, because we all know how much he LOVES cookies!
Our cookie stops will be: * 3 Stories Trading Co.
* Alexanders Custom Creations (inside Raquel's)
* Awareness Washington County
* Framing on the Square
* Home Roots * LaGene Jewelers * Lincks Clothing and Shoes * Lisa's Farmhouse Market
* Loy & Fordyce Agency * Nana's This N That Shop * Nancy's Hair Expressions * Raquel's Restaurant * Salem Apothecary
* Scrumdidly Sweets & Creations
* Tees & Tumblers
This event is getting bigger and better every year! Come down and explore our historic buildings, visit Santa, and participate in our holiday shopping kick-off with lots of great sales!
Bring your kiddos down for a free photo on Saturday, November 25th. The Washington County Chamber will have a professional photographer to catch your moments! The Chamber will also be selling bags for the participants of the Cookie Walk to collect their cookies from participating businesses. Cookie Collectors can then return their forms for their chance at a community e-gift card! Keep your receipts... you will get additional entries when you show the Chamber you've been shopping!
